Active Autowerke Tackles A New Kind Of Circuit
There’s no denying that the ever-more complicated automotive culture that many of us enjoy is founded on a pretty simple concept. One that resonates on a very basic, even instinctual level. We’ve all had the same thought at multiple points in our lives:
“I’m faster than that guy.”
That thought is the motivation behind our constant internet searches for the latest technology, newest product, or secret piece of driving technique. That thought is what keeps us up at all hours of the night scheming and strategizing, performing complex equations in our minds as we attempt to balance our bank accounts with our dreams. The pursuit of the quickest 1/4 mile or lap time seperates us as enthusiasts, from the mindless Camry-driving droves that we share our sacred asphalt with.
Then there are the car show guys.
The same amount of tireless web researching that these guys suffer through provides very different, though none the less impressive, results.
There was a time that things were very black and white. You either were ALL show, or ALL go. Luckily, as a community, we seem to have moved past the dark ages of vehicular segregation. Seperate was not equal. We have evolved, and so have our car shows. Instead of a sanctuary for trailer queens, lifestyle events like the Nurotag NRTG Series combine cultural elements that open the doors to participants looking for an EXPERIENCE, not just an excuse to kill some time on a weekend.
Abel Garcia created the NRTG Series as a showcase not only for the hottest cars around, but for up and coming artists, DJ’s, and photographers. As a co-founder of the goldRush Rally events that you’ve all been watching on Youtube, it should be obvious that the guy knows how to give people what they want.
And what the people want, is innovation. Abel has gone beyond the typical car show format, and made the ground-breaking jump to crowd sourcing. Participants at all of Nurotag’s shows this season will share the onus of judging the rows and rows of competing rides, utilizing their Instagram apps to vote for their favorites.
Each entry will receive a specific numbered decal, which passer-by can tag, and post. The top 25 vehicles in each show with the most tags/votes from around the country will be invited to the final “nurotagallStars” event in November, to compete for $10,000 in cash and prizes.
Active Autowerke intends to have a strong showing at the season kick-off at Marlins Park in Miami, on February 23, 2013, which is why we decided to become an official vendor. Come out and take an up close peek at Blitzkrieg’s Level 3 E90 Supercharger System, and vote for everyone’s favorite M3 to earn top show honors…Or just enjoy the sights and sounds provided by the local talent.
Show. Go. Both. Come celebrate the culture we all had a hand in creating. Just leave the Camry at home.
