“So, there I was deep in the field. Lap after lap, all I did was drive, pass another car, and set my sights ahead.”
Jeffrey Cripe went off-track and spun his #96 E36 BMW 328is on the opening lap of the 2015 SCCA Runoffs. After starting 4th, the spin caused him to fall to 24th position. Battling back from this error would not be a simple task.
However, it was the final race of the 2015 SCCA season and Jeff was blessed with road racing in his blood. Learn More
We like to have our cake, and eat it too. This is probably why you won’t see any of us competing in the Crossfit Games during ESPN2’s late night programming anytime soon. Where you WILL catch us though, is at events like the recent high-performance driving event at Palm Beach International Raceway, put on by our friend Tony and the crew at The HPDE.
Another year has passed and it’s hard to not be just a little sentimental. 2014 has been a fruitful year filled with great accomplishments. Instead of listing every single thing we have achieved, we decided to save you the boredom of reading an endless essay of accomplishments and instead we’ll list our top 3. We will also be saving our biggest and most exciting accomplishment for last. So fasten your seat belts because we are about to speed through a year at Active Autowerke. Continue Reading
Even Superman is jealous of this kind of power!
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a BMW 128i with a custom Karl Hugh tune! It may be unconventional, but here at Active Autowerke we thrive on a hands-on approach to achieve considerable gains. When our Software Engineer Karl Hugh creates a tune for a customer, he takes a more personal approach to bring them the results they desire.
Karl was recently approached by a driver named Kyle Herbst, who was faced with a dilemma. One of these is really important. The other is being a dad.
In every racer’s life, there comes a time that requires us to trade in horsepower and the smell of burnt rubber, for cribs and dirty diapers.
A time when the need for speed, becomes the need for a nap.
This was the case for Paul Azan, a good friend of ours, here at Active Autowerke. Paul started racing regularly back in 1990, but was forced to give it up shortly after his second child was born in 1995.
All of us have dreams. Many of us pursue them. Some of us come close to realizing them.
However, only a select few of us take the meticulous measurements required to not only achieve, but excel at every step along the way. It takes patience, sacrifice, and a lot of luck to make your dreams a reality.
Robert Chang didn’t begin racing to just participate. He didn’t begin racing to escape from his daily life. Robert Chang dove headfirst into a dream that he had little experience in, yet now finds himself at the pinnacle of. All of us here at Active Autowerke are enormously proud to congratulate him on his 2013 National Championship in BMWCCA’s C-Modified class.

Stopping The Madness

Being able to take a moment to just stop…stop rushing through our daily lives; stop worrying about our finances; stop fooling ourselves into thinking reality television is worth watching…is a convenience many of us fail to take advantage of.
However, it’s important to take that moment when we can. Sometimes, it’s the only way for us to get going again.
Being able to stop on command is also important on the street or racetrack. While we all love to play with power, the ability to reign it in is an essential, yet often overlooked, aspect. When it comes to our Project EURO M3, we expected it to lay stripes on the blacktop not only while accelerating, but decelerating as well. In this installment, we’ll let you in on some of the details behind our braking and suspension set up. Learn More
