Let’s get one thing clear off the bat – we’ve got no rooting interest in the success of the New York Knicks or Los Angeles Lakers. Why bring this up? Well, these are two franchises with long and storied histories. They have heritage, name-brand recognition, and (for the most part) know how to win.
Yet here in the summer of 2015, both are being snubbed by some of the NBA’s top free agents. There are multiple basketball-related reasons for this, but since we aren’t a sports blog, we won’t pretend to know anything about those. The bottom line is the Lakers and the Knicks are in a position that’s quite foreign to them: they’re underdogs.
We can relate somewhat. We recently launched our latest ACTIVE-8 tuning module for the latest crop of turbocharged BMWs – a market that’s already quite crowded. However, if there’s one thing that history has shown us, its that you should never count out a perpetual winner.
Here’s what makes the ACTIVE-8 the real MVP: Continue Reading
Proving Why The Number (M)3 Will Live Forever…
Whether we like to admit it or not, as BMW owners and tuners, there’s a bit of a reputation about us.
We’re of course referring to the fact that the general public views us as extremely respectful and courteous highway drivers who are responsible with our money and time, and probably hold a roughneck, blue-collar 9-5 position at the local steel mill.
If there is a differing opinion out there, feel free to let us know.
One thing that our Bavarian brutes aren’t exactly known for however, is striking an overwhelming sense of fear and inferiority in the loins of our fellow road warriors. Like it or not, the exhaust note of an M3 doesn’t exactly send pedestrians running for cover the way they might when confronted with a modified Viper.
…And that’s just the way Jack Galyean likes it. Besides, what those pedestrians don’t know, is that he just got done wiping the floor with that Mopar monstrosity on the highway. Learn More
Double Your Options, Double Your Fun
It was only a few short weeks ago that we were extolling the virtues of seemingly the last generation of BMW’s traditional naturally-aspirated inline 6 cylinder engine. Yes, the N52 featured in the E9X 328i has finally been put out to pasture for a more modern method of motivation in the current F30 generation. Although we, and many of you, will miss the simple and reliable workhorse moving forward, it does seems that we will be doing that moving a good bit faster now.
Quick, count how many cliches can we fit into this next sequence: all good things must come to an end; every end is a new beginning; a fuel efficient, direct-injected turbocharged motor makes the heart grow fonder…All proverbs that ring true, particularly when we realized that the new F30 328i platform afforded us the opportunity to create a pretty kick-ass exhaust for the new BMW N20. Active Autowerke Charges Ahead In The N55 Tuning Game
TRUST IN large corporations is extremely hard to earn…and we don’t mean the kind of trust that the Fortune 500 CEO has stashed away for his little Prince or Princess Charming. That’s no to say there’s anything wrong with having a wealthy patriarch in the family; too many people are quick to hate on the hard work of others, and the priveleges those accomplishemnts afford.
What we’re talking about here is earnest trust in a company. Trust that a face-less conglomerate will provide the right product to their customers. Trust that spending over $40,000 of your own, your father’s, or ANYONE’s money for that matter, will buy you a product that will meet your expectations of reliability and performance.
Unfortunately, the BMW N55 powered 135i, 335i, and 535i models have broken not only that trust, but their own intake charge pipes. Just like any parent though, wealthy or not, Active Autowerke has a cure for your boo-boo. Just don’t ask us to kiss it – that would be inappropriate. Learn More
