Another year has passed and it’s hard to not be just a little sentimental. 2014 has been a fruitful year filled with great accomplishments. Instead of listing every single thing we have achieved, we decided to save you the boredom of reading an endless essay of accomplishments and instead we’ll list our top 3. We will also be saving our biggest and most exciting accomplishment for last. So fasten your seat belts because we are about to speed through a year at Active Autowerke. Continue Reading
Here we are.
It’s been quite a journey, and we can’t lie; it’s been a tough one. Project Euro M3 began as more of a dream than anything: Build a fully functioning – comfortable – 500+ horsepower ultimate driving machine. The platform for the ambitious build was arguably one of the most coveted iterations of the legendary marque, the European market E36 M3. Our mission was simple…add a bunch of extra air.
Both in the engine bay, AND the cabin.
For many of us who grew up in the U.S., our first encounter with the country of Taiwan happened when we flipped over the plastic trinkets that came with our Happy Meals, and asked our mothers to read the three little words that we found. Although we couldn’t pronounce it’s name, Taiwan meant one thing to us: fun toys.
Now (somewhat) more mature, “Made in Taiwan” carries a similar meaning, at least here at Active Autowerke. Over the years, we’ve cultivated a profound relationship with a large group of BMW enthusiasts on the island who have some pretty impressive toys of their own…and none of them contain a single ounce of cheap plastic. Stopping The Madness
Being able to take a moment to just stop…stop rushing through our daily lives; stop worrying about our finances; stop fooling ourselves into thinking reality television is worth watching…is a convenience many of us fail to take advantage of.
However, it’s important to take that moment when we can. Sometimes, it’s the only way for us to get going again.
Being able to stop on command is also important on the street or racetrack. While we all love to play with power, the ability to reign it in is an essential, yet often overlooked, aspect. When it comes to our Project EURO M3, we expected it to lay stripes on the blacktop not only while accelerating, but decelerating as well. In this installment, we’ll let you in on some of the details behind our braking and suspension set up. Learn More
Bringing You More For Your Service Purchase
Raise your hand if you’ve ever driven away your local BMW service shop wondering when your finely-tuned German barnburner turned into a ridiculously costly Ultimate Maintenance Machine.
When did your favorite toy turn into so much work?
They say you’ve got to pay to play, but when you’re dipping into Junior’s college fund just so your dealership technician can replace your E36’s rear trailing arm bushings for the umpteenth time, you probably aren’t laughing. Learn More
Your Chance To Do Something None Of Our Competitors Ever Will…Catch Up With Us
WE’RE ALMOST to the end of 2013. Can you believe that?
With each year that goes by, the trends, topics, and technologies change. Frankly, we’re finding it a little hard to keep up. Everywhere we look people are talking about the newest gaming console (the newest iPhone is known as the 5, but the newest X-Box is the one? Where’s Jerry Seinfeld on all this?), managing their fantasy football leagues (Megatron has won the week for us on more than one occasion), or sharing videos featuring an obscene amount of jiggling skin and…assets.
Meanwhile, we’re just over here trying to make these dad-gum horseless carriages a little faster.
Maybe we’re just old fashioned.
Then again, it’s pretty easy to stay relevant when our products are powering some of the most powerful BMW’s on the road AND the roadcourse. Not to toot our own horn…but beep-beep. Learn More
Things Are Getting A Little Shifty
If the term “grabby” has ever been used to describe you, chances are your social life may be lacking a bit.
Past the age of 5, keeping your hands to yourself is generally considered an essential life skill. It’s a matter of manners and social decorum. No one wants to be the overly touchy-feely guy or girl. It can lead to a lot of lonely nights spent in front of a computer screen, perusing performance BMW blogs.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. How do we know? Because we actually prefer for our cars to be a bit grabby.
It’s clutch time, ladies and gentlemen. Learn More
