Another year has passed and it’s hard to not be just a little sentimental. 2014 has been a fruitful year filled with great accomplishments. Instead of listing every single thing we have achieved, we decided to save you the boredom of reading an endless essay of accomplishments and instead we’ll list our top 3. We will also be saving our biggest and most exciting accomplishment for last. So fasten your seat belts because we are about to speed through a year at Active Autowerke. Continue Reading
When painting a masterpiece, every individual brush stroke requires total concentration. Each stroke has a purpose and meaning, and is orchestrated precisely, culminating in an end result that is nothing short of extraordinary. In all facets of our business, we take similar considerations into mind. Sales, distribution, and service are all detailed brush strokes in the masterpiece that is Active Autowerke.
For many of us who grew up in the U.S., our first encounter with the country of Taiwan happened when we flipped over the plastic trinkets that came with our Happy Meals, and asked our mothers to read the three little words that we found. Although we couldn’t pronounce it’s name, Taiwan meant one thing to us: fun toys.
Now (somewhat) more mature, “Made in Taiwan” carries a similar meaning, at least here at Active Autowerke. Over the years, we’ve cultivated a profound relationship with a large group of BMW enthusiasts on the island who have some pretty impressive toys of their own…and none of them contain a single ounce of cheap plastic. Passion? Obsession? Addiction?
These words may sound a bit strong to the average person. Negative, even. However, between ourselves and Precision Sport Industries, we like to believe we give obsessive compulsive disorder a good name.
We honestly can’t help ourselves. The stainless steel shine of our hand-welded exhausts? Our reputation. The decimals on the dyno sheet? Our business. Without this perfectionist attitude and attention to detail, we’d be just another result on a Google search page.
When it comes to your BMW, you may experience a certain amount of OCD as well. We get it. You should expect top quality products and service. You should expect in a word…precision.
And when it comes to trusting your neighborhood performance tuning shop, our money is on the one with “Precision” right in it’s name. Learn More
Whether we like to admit it or not, as BMW owners and tuners, there’s a bit of a reputation about us.
We’re of course referring to the fact that the general public views us as extremely respectful and courteous highway drivers who are responsible with our money and time, and probably hold a roughneck, blue-collar 9-5 position at the local steel mill.
If there is a differing opinion out there, feel free to let us know.
One thing that our Bavarian brutes aren’t exactly known for however, is striking an overwhelming sense of fear and inferiority in the loins of our fellow road warriors. Like it or not, the exhaust note of an M3 doesn’t exactly send pedestrians running for cover the way they might when confronted with a modified Viper.
…And that’s just the way Jack Galyean likes it. Besides, what those pedestrians don’t know, is that he just got done wiping the floor with that Mopar monstrosity on the highway. Learn More
There won’t be a cute lead-in to this one…Other than that positively brilliant title of course.
No, this post exists to accomplish only one purpose – to properly track the progress of one of the most rare and extensive builds we have ever taken part in.
Over the coming months, we’ll be documenting a full-scale project, the likes of which most of you have probably never seen. It will require well-planned custom fabrication, copious dyno testing, and hours of fine tuning in order to ensure the level of quality and finish that our customers have grown accustomed to. Active Autowerke is on the brink of beginning a journey to rival anything Tolkein, Martin, or Rowling could possibly dream up. And you won’t believe where it will take us.
Of course, like any good story, this one requires a bit of a prologue… Learn More
Real Men Love (Power) Curves
If your local highways, tracks, and drive-thrus have been anything like the Active Autowerke shop recently, you already know that the latest (and possibly last) iteration of the BMW M3 is more popular than ever. The E90, E92, and E93 Chassis are more advanced, luxurious, and powerful than any 3-series before them, and as a result, have sold like wienerschnitzel…or whatever the German equivalent of hot cakes might be.
For most of their owners, the high-revving 400+ horsepower V8 S65 engine housed within these M3s is more than enough to get to and from a relatively boring commute. It’s even enough to give your boss’s corvette a run for it’s money on almost any stretch of pavement…not that we’d condone racing your boss in public. There’s a strong chance you might lose your Christmas bonus.
However, if 414bhp were enough for you, you wouldn’t be reading this blog. You wouldn’t be contemplating supercharging your M3. You wouldn’t be plotting alternate routes that just may have you running into your company’s CEO’s Ferrari for a friendly jaunt. Learn More
